On August 10th Crown Magnetar released their new single “Shut Up and Bleed” from the upcoming album The Hollowing Of Godflesh coming out on September 25th.
I had the pleasure of watching Crown Magnetar this year opening up for Archspire and man did they put on a hell of a show. In a genre that can sometimes feel oversaturated watching Crown Magnetar live felt like a breath of fresh air. Listening to their new single you can hear the refinement of their production while maintaining their brutality and what made them stand out. I do have to say the slam guitars with double kick drums was very nice!
Vocalist Dan Tucker had this to say about the new single. “Corruption made permanent. A corrupt entity is condemned within its own form. Its hollow interior filled and hardened until flesh becomes a living tomb. Unable to move, unable to die, it remains conscious and imprisoned in the exact moment of agony. A being with no escape and no reprieve. Shut up and bleed.”
Regarding The Hollowing Of Godflesh, Tucker adds: “‘The Hollowing of Godflesh’ is the most complete representation of Crown Magnetar we’ve ever put together. We pushed every aspect of our songwriting further without losing the intensity and rawness that defines the band. We wanted to take what people expect from us and push it further by adding more atmosphere, bigger moments, and even more aggression without sacrificing anything. You’ll hear it in the insane riffing of new guitarist Rob Maramonte, who has spent time as a member of Fallujah and The Zenith Passage, as well as performed live with Thy Art Is Murder and All Shall Perish.
