Brisbane indie surf-rock band Tickets to Space are looking ahead with a sense of optimism on their single “True,” out now. Rather than chasing some oversized idea of success, the band focuses on something much more relatable: building a life surrounded by people you love, keeping close friendships, and finding happiness in the things that genuinely matter.
The track follows a strong start for the young Meanjin/Brisbane outfit. Tickets to Space made their introduction earlier this year with “Uncovered,” which climbed to No. 9 on the national AMRAP chart and No. 3 on the AMRAP Indie chart in June. They continued that momentum with “You Know Where I’ll Be Tonight,” selling out Brisbane’s Cave Inn for its launch in July.
With “True,” the band takes a more carefree approach while still keeping the rough edges that make their sound feel authentic. The track gradually builds toward a punchy, punk-influenced chorus, where roaring vocals and energetic instrumentation give the song an infectious sense of youthful freedom.
