156/Silence have officially entered a new era. The Pittsburgh-based atmospheric metalcore band has released its sixth full-length album, From A Distance, via Pure Noise Records, marking its first full-length release since 2024’s People Watching.
Alongside the album’s arrival, the band has also unveiled a new music video for its title track, “From A Distance,” featuring Alex Reade of Make Them Suffer. Reade also appears in the video, adding another presence to a song rooted in one of the most universal human experiences: love.
While 156/Silence are known for creating music that explores heavy and emotionally intense territory, the message behind “From A Distance” comes from a place of hope. The band describes the song as a reflection on the power of love and the belief that, even when life is filled with cruelty and darkness, there is still goodness worth holding onto.
At its core, “From A Distance” is about connection and the idea that distance doesn’t necessarily diminish what people mean to one another. Sometimes love remains powerful even when circumstances keep people apart, and the band uses that idea as the emotional foundation for the album’s title track.
With the release of From A Distance, 156/Silence continue moving forward without losing the emotional weight that has become such an important part of their identity. The new album represents another chapter for the quintet; one that doesn’t shy away from darkness but still leaves room for something brighter to exist within it.
