The String Cheese Incident are leaning fully into rhythm with “Fête-Tama,” an energetic instrumental that blends electronic production, Afro-inspired percussion, and thick funk grooves. Rather than relying on vocals, the track lets its melodies and rhythmic layers do the talking, gradually building into a six-minute celebration designed to keep listeners moving.
Written by Kyle Hollingsworth, the song began as a keyboard melody before the entire band shaped it into its final form. Inspired by global music and the sound of the tama drum, “Fête-Tama” highlights the band’s ability to pull influences from different corners of the musical world and turn them into something distinctly their own.
The release follows “Lightning Sky” and arrives as the Colorado jam collective continues its Just Keep Spinning Tour. With upcoming stops including Vail, Marrakech, Hulaween, New York, the Bay Area, and San Diego, the band is carrying that same spirit of experimentation and celebration from the studio straight to the stage.
