Taylor Momsen returned to the Soundgarden stage Wednesday night, September 9, joining the legendary Seattle rock band for a special halftime performance during the Seattle Seahawks’ NFL season opener against the New England Patriots at Lumen Field.
The hometown performance also featured Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, with the musicians coming together for a thunderous rendition of two of Soundgarden’s most recognizable tracks, “Outshined” and “Spoonman.” The surprise collaboration transformed halftime into a full-scale rock celebration, bringing the energy of Seattle’s iconic music scene into the Seahawks’ home stadium.
For Momsen and Soundgarden, the appearance marked another significant moment in their growing history together. The Pretty Reckless frontwoman previously performed alongside Soundgarden’s surviving members during their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction last year, helping honor the band’s lasting impact on rock music.
The reunion arrives during a major year for Momsen and The Pretty Reckless, who released their fifth studio album, DEAR GOD, on June 26 through Fearless Records. Momsen co-produced the record alongside Ben Phillips and Jonathan Wyman. The album’s single “When I Wake Up” went on to become the band’s ninth No. 1 hit on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, further cementing The Pretty Reckless’ place in rock history. The achievement also extended the band’s record for the most Mainstream Rock Airplay No. 1s by a female-fronted band or solo female artist.
The Pretty Reckless are currently taking DEAR GOD around the world on their Dear God Tour, with upcoming performances scheduled across North America and internationally through December 3, when the tour concludes in Glasgow. The extensive run follows the band’s two-year stint supporting AC/DC on the PWR UP Tour.
