If you’ve spent any time in the modern deathcore scene, chances are PeelingFlesh has already found its way onto your radar. Since forming in 2021, the five-piece from Oklahoma City has been carving out a lane entirely their own, taking the bone-crushing weight of slam and deathcore, injecting it with hardcore aggression, and throwing in hip-hop samples, movie clips, and viral sounds that make their music as unpredictable as it is punishing. They call it “slamming gangster groove,” and once you hear it, you understand exactly why the name fits.

PeelingFlesh didn’t waste time making their presence known. After building momentum with a string of EPs, the band reached a major turning point in 2024 with the release of their debut full-length album, The G Code. The record helped push them beyond the underground, introducing their unapologetically chaotic sound to an even wider audience. With guitarist Soto handling much of the production, the album captures the band’s identity in all its filthy, groove-heavy glory: crushing riffs, punishing breakdowns, and a swagger that refuses to be boxed into traditional deathcore conventions.
Their rise hasn’t stopped at the metal scene, either. PeelingFlesh have shared the road with heavy hitters like Revocation and deathcore veterans Whitechapel, continuing to build a reputation as a force to be reckoned with. But perhaps one of their most unexpected moves came with “Midnight,” their electronic collaboration with SVDDEN DEATH. The track brought their brutal sound into the world of EDM, proving that their signature heaviness could thrive well beyond the confines of a mosh pit. The collaboration even caught the attention of Marshmello, who teased the track during one of his sets, giving PeelingFlesh another moment in the spotlight and demonstrating just how far their sound can travel.
And if there’s one thing you should know about PeelingFlesh, it’s that they’re a band best experienced at full volume, surrounded by a crowd ready to lose their minds. Their live shows embody everything that makes them stand out: relentless grooves, explosive energy, and the kind of breakdowns that make standing still feel impossible.
