Dawn Of Demise Return With Relentless Force on Feed My Absurdity

After nearly seven years away from releasing a full-length record, Danish death metal veterans Dawn Of Demise are back with a new chapter that doubles down on the heaviness that has defined them for more than two decades. Released October 9 through Unique Leader Records, Feed My Absurdity sees the band return to the forefront with ten tracks built around punishing riffs, crushing grooves, and the kind of uncompromising death metal that prioritizes impact over technical excess.

Since forming in Silkeborg, Denmark, in 2003, Dawn Of Demise have remained committed to a straightforward philosophy: make death metal heavy, memorable, and impossible to ignore. While much of the modern extreme metal landscape gravitates toward breakneck speed, elaborate technical passages, and increasingly complex instrumentation, the band have carved out their own identity by keeping the focus on muscular guitar work, forceful rhythms, and groove-driven brutality. Their sound draws heavily from American death metal, incorporating elements of slam without losing sight of the songwriting and memorable riffs that give their music staying power.

Feed My Absurdity also marks an important moment for the five-piece, with original guitarist Jakob Nyholm returning to the lineup. Having contributed to the band’s early days, including their demo and debut album, Nyholm’s return has helped reignite the group’s creative energy. Bassist Bjørn Jensen describes the reunion as a revitalizing force, with the new record reflecting a renewed commitment to making music collectively rather than relying on one member to steer the direction.

The album’s production, handled by Tue Madsen, known for his work with Meshuggah and The Haunted, takes a more organic approach than the band’s previous modern production style. According to Jensen, the goal was to capture a more natural, energetic performance while preserving the sheer weight of the band’s sound. The result is a record rooted in the familiar Dawn Of Demise formula, with enough variation to keep longtime listeners engaged.

The ten-song tracklist opens with the title track, “Feed My Absurdity,” before moving through cuts including “Ominous,” “The Essence Of Extirpation,” and “Reviving Demise.” Later tracks such as “Dissociation,” “Sense Of Superiority,” and “Break The World” round out the release, maintaining the album’s focus on direct, groove-heavy death metal.

Early reactions from metal publications have highlighted the band’s ability to balance ferocity with control, praising the record’s muscular sound and commitment to the fundamentals of the genre. Rather than chasing trends or attempting to reinvent their identity, Dawn Of Demise have returned with a clear understanding of what they do best and a renewed sense of purpose behind it.

With Feed My Absurdity, Dawn Of Demise prove that a lengthy absence doesn’t have to mean a loss of momentum. The return of a founding-era member, a more organic production approach, and a collective creative effort have brought fresh energy to a sound built on two decades of experience. For listeners who value death metal that hits hard, grooves relentlessly, and delivers memorable riffs without unnecessary embellishment, the band’s sixth full-length is a welcome return to form.
