For MkX, the best nights out don’t always end when the lights come on. Sometimes, the real fun begins when everyone leaves the club and finds a reason to keep moving. That spontaneous energy is at the heart of the Los Angeles-based pop artist’s latest music video for “MAKE U DANCE,” a vibrant visual that celebrates the freedom of dancing wherever the night takes you.

Rather than relying on a traditional club setting, MkX takes the party somewhere unexpected: an empty parking lot transformed into a late-night gathering filled with movement, chemistry, and unapologetic pop energy. Packed with elaborate choreography and a nostalgic nod to the larger-than-life music videos of the early 2000s, the visual embraces the kind of playful spectacle that made pop music feel larger than life.

The concept came from a real experience MkX had while celebrating a friend’s birthday. After the club closed, the group wasn’t ready to call it a night. Instead, they brought the party outside, turned up the music, and created their own dance floor. What began as an unplanned moment became the inspiration for the video’s cinematic direction.

MkX wanted to preserve that feeling of being surrounded by people who simply aren’t ready for the night to end. With director Andy Koeger helping bring the idea to life, the finished video captures the excitement of an ordinary setting becoming the backdrop for an unforgettable night. Choreographed by Ian McKenzie, whose credits include Lady Gaga, the visual follows MkX through energetic dance sequences while a chance encounter with a love interest adds a spark of romance to the celebration.

Beyond its choreography and throwback aesthetic, “MAKE U DANCE” represents MkX’s commitment to making pop music that feels both familiar and fresh. As a songwriter and producer, he approaches the genre with an appreciation for the craft behind a truly memorable record. For this release, he set out to create something that fully embraced pop’s infectious nature, leaning into the hooks, energy, and larger-than-life personality that define the style. With “MAKE U DANCE,” MkX delivers a reminder that music doesn’t need a packed venue or an elaborate setting to bring people together. Sometimes, all it takes is the right song, a little spontaneity, and a group of people who aren’t ready to go home.
