The Pretty Reckless are giving fans something more personal than a typical music video, opening the door to the moments that happen when the lights go down and the crowds disappear. Their newly released visual for “About You (Bonus Version)” takes viewers along for the ride, blending life on the road with behind-the-scenes footage from the studio to offer a more intimate look at the people and experiences behind the music.
Rather than focusing solely on the band’s presence onstage, the video celebrates the journey that happens away from the spotlight. It captures the connection between the band, their creative process, and the community that has supported them throughout their career. Watch the official music video HERE.
The track originally appeared on the band’s fifth studio album, DEAR GOD, which arrived in June. This expanded take brings an additional layer to the song, featuring backing vocals and instrumentation from Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and Pat Smear. Their contributions add another dimension to the release, bringing together musicians whose careers have helped shape the modern rock landscape.
For frontwoman Taylor Momsen, however, the video’s meaning reaches beyond the music itself. She explained that the band wanted to share pieces of their life together, from touring to recording, while keeping the fans at the center of the experience. Her message makes the video’s purpose clear: the people who continue to show up, listen, and support the band are an essential part of the story being told. With DEAR GOD continuing to bring the band back to audiences around the world, The Pretty Reckless are preparing to take the album on the road once again. Their European and UK tour begins November 9 in Madrid, launching another stretch of performances for fans eager to experience the new material live.
