Vevo, the world’s leading music video network, has unveiled Tyla’s first ever Vevo Official Live Performance for her track “IS IT LOVE,” offering fans a new visual interpretation of the song ahead of the release of her highly anticipated album APOP* on July 24. The performance marks the beginning of a new exclusive Vevo series featuring additional performances from the global star in the weeks ahead.
Known for creating immersive live experiences that highlight an artist’s creativity beyond the traditional music video format, Vevo’s Official Live Performance series gives musicians the opportunity to reimagine their songs through unique visual worlds. Each production is carefully crafted alongside the artist and their creative team to reflect the mood, storytelling, and artistic direction of their music.
For “IS IT LOVE,” Tyla trades the energy of the original music video for a more intimate and atmospheric setting. The performance unfolds inside a spacious industrial location, where dramatic lighting, soft sepia tones, and shifting shadows create a warm yet cinematic backdrop. Moving effortlessly through the space, Tyla’s vocals take center stage as her image is projected across a hanging curtain between towering concrete structures.
Joined by guitarist Ari O’Neal, the performance builds into a powerful closing moment that highlights the chemistry between Tyla’s vocals and the live instrumentation. The stripped-back arrangement allows the emotional depth of “IS IT LOVE” to shine while showcasing her signature blend of R&B, pop, and Afro-inspired influences.
