Zahna Enters a New Era With Break or Breakthrough

Mexican-born heavy rock artist Zahna steps into a new chapter with her third studio album, Break or Breakthrough, released September 4, 2026, through XOVR Records, the label founded by Korn’s Brian “Head” Welch. The ten-track collection marks her first full-length release with the label and represents a very different point in her journey.

Rather than focusing on the fight to stay alive, Break or Breakthrough explores what happens after the battle is over. Following the life-threatening kidney failure and transplant that shaped her 2023 album Stronger Than Death, Zahna found herself facing an entirely different kind of struggle. Isolation, financial hardship, grief, broken relationships, betrayal, and questions surrounding her faith all became part of the aftermath.

The result is an album built from those experiences. Zahna blends hard rock, metalcore, dark pop, and powerful vocals across ten tracks that move between anger, heartbreak, forgiveness, hope, and rebuilding. There is a sense of confrontation throughout the record, but also a willingness to acknowledge the difficult process of moving forward.

The album features production and mixing from Kellen McGregor of Memphis May Fire, with Cory Brunnemann of Through Arteries contributing co-writing and associate production, while mastering was handled by Ted Jensen of Sterling Sound.

With Break or Breakthrough, Zahna doesn’t simply revisit everything she has survived. Instead, she examines what it takes to rebuild when survival is no longer the only goal.
