June 17, 2026 — South Korean indie rock trio wave to earth have officially announced their new album, bad pieces, arriving August 7. Fans can pre-save the record HERE.

The upcoming album marks a new creative chapter for Daniel Kim, John Cha, and Dong Q, embracing fresh instrumentation and a broader sonic palette while remaining true to the band’s signature sound. Throughout the writing process, each member explored their own musical identity, resulting in an album that reflects both their individual growth and their evolution as a band.

“I feel like this music is closer to the essence of wave to earth than ever before. I always thought that each member’s individual musicality should be showcased in the band. As time progressed, we naturally came to this state.” – Daniel Kim

“The vision was always that we would make our own music and contribute to the band. The songs that we each provide have their own distinctive characteristics.” – John Cha

The album’s title, bad pieces, was inspired by the “Bed Peace” sign displayed behind John Lennon and Yoko Ono during their 1969 Bed-In protests. Kim says the concept centers around finding peace within one’s own space.

“We felt like John and Yoko were having a state of peace within their bed. When people listen to this album, I want them to feel like they are in a state of peace within the space where they’re listening to it.” – Daniel Kim

Alongside the announcement, the band has released the album’s lead single, “heaven and hell.” According to the group, the track reflects the desire to hold onto the innocence and purity of childhood. Listen HERE.

Following the album’s release, wave to earth will hit the road for their extensive “the pieces tour,” promoted by Live Nation. The tour begins September 4 in Vancouver and includes 21 North American cities, with stops in Chicago, Boston, Minneapolis, Seattle, San Francisco, Atlanta, Austin, and more. The run also features performances at New York City’s iconic Radio City Music Hall and Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre.

The tour will continue through Asia this November with performances in Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, and additional cities. A complete list of tour dates can be found below.

Since forming in 2019, wave to earth has built an impressive international following, selling out shows across North America, Europe, and Asia. “heaven and hell” serves as the band’s first new release since play with earth! 0.03 (2024), an EP that debuted at No. 5 on Spotify’s Top Albums Debut Global Chart and helped fuel a completely sold-out North American tour.

The band previously released the EPs wave 0.01 (2020) and summer flows 0.02 (2020) before unveiling their first full-length album, 0.1 flaws and all, in 2023 after signing with independent label WAVY. That record featured the breakout hit “bad,” which reached No. 1 on Spotify’s Viral 50 Global Chart.

Today, wave to earth boasts more than 7 million monthly Spotify listeners, over 500 million streams for their hit single “seasons,” and has performed at major festivals around the world, including Lollapalooza in Chicago, Chile, and India.
