Austin duo Dorio step into a cinematic new era with Agent Friday and the Perfect Angel, a genre-blurring album that fuses shimmering pop hooks, textured electronica, fuzzy guitars, and lounge-inspired grooves into a stylish spy-thriller soundtrack. Out today, the album’s lead tracks, “Perfect Angel” and “Chasing Agent Friday,” introduce the record’s central characters—two alter egos that symbolize perfectionism, obsession, and the internal push-and-pull of identity. Written by longtime collaborators Chad Doriocourt and Rachel Rascoe, the project explores themes of self-discovery, OCD, ambition, and duality through infectious melodies and richly layered production. Inspired by late-’90s and early-2000s pop alongside cult film soundtracks, “Chasing Agent Friday” & the “Perfect Angel” finds Dorio embracing both dancefloor energy and emotional vulnerability, delivering their most adventurous and cohesive work to date.
