Danish death metal veterans Dawn Of Demise are stepping into a more aggressive gear with “Ominous,” the latest preview of their upcoming sixth album, Feed My Absurdity. Set for release October 9 via Unique Leader Records, the track shows the band leaning into a faster and more frantic side of their sound.
While Dawn Of Demise have built their reputation around crushing, slower-moving death metal, “Ominous” feels like a deliberate change of pace. The guitars hit with punishing weight, the drums drive the song forward relentlessly, and the overall attack gives the track an urgency that feels different from their traditionally heavier crawl.
What makes the song effective is that the band doesn’t abandon its identity while picking up the speed. “Ominous” still carries the brutality and heaviness associated with Dawn Of Demise, but adds a sharper sense of momentum that makes the track feel particularly vicious. It’s a strong indication that Feed My Absurdity may have a few surprises waiting beyond the band’s familiar territory.
