Austin’s French Film are quickly becoming one of the most exciting names in the city’s underground shoegaze and post-hardcore scene. Since forming in the winter of 2023, the four-piece has carved out a sound that blends swirling atmospheres, explosive dynamics, and raw emotional intensity, drawing inspiration from influential acts like Blonde Redhead, Sonic Youth, Autolux, and Unwound while creating a style entirely their own.
Now, French Film are entering a new chapter with Los Angeles-based label Solid Brass Records and their upcoming compilation album Yours + Five, arriving August 21, 2026. Expanding on the world introduced in their debut EP, the ten track collection blends shimmering melodies with moments of crushing tension, creating a sound that feels both immersive and unpredictable.
Yours + Five will be released on 8/21/26 digitally and on Limited Edition Ruby Red and Opaque White vinyl.
