Minneapolis, MN metalcore outfit Impossible Prom Kings are set to unleash their new EP, Frequencies, on July 24 via Ghost Killer Entertainment. The six-track release showcases the band’s ability to blend crushing aggression, soaring melodies, and unforgettable hooks, with focus track “Carrion” serving as a powerful introduction to the EP’s explosive energy.
Alongside “Carrion,” Frequencies features previously released heavy hitters including “Witchcraft” (featuring Osatia), “Incinerate (Burn For Me),” “In Motion,” and “Succumb.” Each track highlights the band’s ability to balance relentless instrumentation with moments of atmosphere and emotional depth, creating a sound that feels both familiar and refreshingly unpredictable.
Impossible Prom Kings explain that the title Frequencies represents the individuality of each song, with every track capturing its own unique identity and sonic direction. Rather than forcing themselves into a specific style, the band embraces experimentation and allows each song to naturally evolve through the contributions of every member.
“The title Frequencies made sense to us for this collection of songs because each one is so individual and unique like a specific frequency. We pride ourselves on not forcing our music into a specific sound or direction when writing. We try to let the songs develop organically based on what we enjoy hearing or what we think might sound different or unique for us. Each member of the band adds their own vibe to each song as it develops and we are constantly challenging ourselves musically.
