On July 17, 2026- Nashville singer-songwriter Jacob Reese Thornton, known through his project Jacob & the Dazey Chain, has unveiled his latest EP, This Might Be War. The new release is available now across all major streaming platforms, marking another chapter in the artist’s evolving musical journey.
Jacob says, “This Might Be War” feels like the record I’ve always wanted to make: explosive, cinematic, and unapologetically me. It’s the culmination of years of growth, persistence, and a love for the guitar. I’m ecstatic for it to finally be heard. Working with Tone Def completely rewired my approach to recording; if it doesn’t serve the song, it doesn’t belong. These four tracks each feel like a Polaroid snapshot of exactly who I am today… and there is so much more in the pipeline. It’s also my first release on East Iris Records/Universal Music Group, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible team supporting me.”

Produced by Tone Def and recorded at East Iris Studios in Nashville, the EP reflects a refined approach to songwriting and production, focusing on creating arrangements where every element serves the emotional impact of each song.
Musically, Jacob & the Dazey Chain blend the bold melodies of Britpop with the edge and attitude of alternative rock. Drawing inspiration from iconic acts including Oasis, The Strokes, Green Day, and The Killers, the project creates a nostalgic yet modern sound built around infectious hooks, powerful guitar work, and arena-ready energy.
Since launching the project in 2019, Jacob has built momentum through relentless touring, festival appearances, and a growing global audience. Highlights include performing at Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Guitar Festival, completing his first U.S. East Coast and U.K. club tour in 2024, and delivering headline performances in cities including London and Manchester. His debut album DON’T LOOK AWAY! has earned nearly one million Spotify streams and appeared on multiple Apple Music editorial playlists.
