Raleigh, North Carolina horror-deathcore outfit Larcenia Roe returns with a powerful new standalone release, “Sandy Cheeks,” arriving via Unique Leader Records. The track marks the band’s latest offering following the success of their critically praised debut full Length, further cementing their reputation for pairing crushing heaviness with sharp social commentary.
With “Sandy Cheeks,” Larcenia Roe turns their chaotic sound toward a larger conversation surrounding military spending, global conflicts, and the priorities of those in power. The band uses the song as a platform to question the enormous financial resources dedicated to overseas warfare while highlighting the ongoing challenges surrounding accountability and national spending.
Rather than simply relying on shock value, the track transforms frustration into a brutal, uncompromising statement using the intensity of deathcore as a vehicle for criticism, awareness, and reflection.
Larcenia Roe has never been a band interested in playing it safe, and “Sandy Cheeks” proves that their heaviest moments can carry some of their strongest messages. The track is a chaotic collision of crushing riffs, punishing breakdowns, and an atmosphere that feels as unsettling as the themes it explores.
The band’s horror-inspired approach gives the song a dark cinematic quality, creating a sense of tension that builds throughout the track. Every element feels designed to overwhelm from the aggressive instrumentation to the sheer intensity of the vocal delivery mirroring the frustration behind the song’s subject matter.

What makes “Sandy Cheeks” stand out is the way Larcenia Roe balances brutality with purpose. Beneath the devastating heaviness is a pointed critique of political priorities and the consequences of unchecked spending. The band takes the anger and uncertainty surrounding these issues and turns it into something explosive.
