I had the pleasure of catching Advents opening the night at Summer Fox Brewing in Fresno, Ca. It was a match made in heaven as the venue is known for their pizza. Pizza, Beer , and metal what more can you ask for. Advents the 4 piece from New York are on tour now promoting their new album “A Bitter Truth You Can’t Undo” released on July 17th. While they did play a few of the crowd favorites like “Match My Misery” they did play quite a few songs from their new album and got a good crowd reaction. They are still performing new songs, so will give it a little while to marinate before the crowds start singing along to them. The energy the band put out was awesome and can definitely see them playing in bigger venues and opening up for bigger acts in the near future and look forward to seeing them do just that!
The following band was their coheadliners and road mates for the tour Shallowsky. They are a 4 piece band from Arizona they have built their band about a mantra FTWSM – For Those Who Seek More. They are an atmospheric metal core band their live show is a beautiful balance of atmosphere and soothing vocals, but can quickly turn brutal. The difference is they don’t just scream for the sake of it the screams are placed methodically. They played more newer songs from their latest album “Shallowsky” that came out May 30th of 2025.
The headliner of the night was Perception a local band from Fresno, Ca. They are an upcoming band that has been playing shows around Cali. A mix of hardcore and metalcore. They don’t have an album out, but are playing songs from their catalog and let me tell you live they really hit! They are a young band that is hungry for success and to get the crowd going. They don’t have many songs out but can see them getting bigger in the near future!
