Surfing for Daisy is stepping into a more expansive chapter with the release of Echo The Madness, the alternative rock band’s latest full-length album, out now on all major streaming platforms.
Rather than presenting a world of simple contrasts, Echo The Madness exists somewhere in between them. The album explores the strange coexistence of beauty and devastation, reflecting the idea that joy, darkness, wonder, and tragedy can occupy the same space. The band describes the record as “a musical exploration into a world that is filled with beauty and intense tragedy all simultaneously,” an idea that serves as a foundation for the album’s emotional landscape.
Surfing for Daisy’s story began in a far more intimate setting. The project came together on a porch in Asbury Park, New Jersey, where a gathering of longtime friends and new faces gradually developed into something bigger. That communal beginning remains embedded in the band’s music, which draws from alternative folk-rock while incorporating psychedelic textures and a willingness to move beyond conventional genre boundaries.
Their sound is difficult to pin down and intentionally so. Songs can shift between moods and influences rather than following a single formula, allowing the band to explore different shades of its identity from one moment to the next. That unpredictability has also translated to the band’s live presence. Surfing for Daisy made a major impression at Sea.Hear.Now Festival in September 2025, performing for a crowd of thousands and introducing its music to a much larger audience. The band has continued building that momentum, including a sold-out performance at The Stone Pony last year.
With Echo The Madness now available, Surfing for Daisy is carrying that momentum into its next phase, with additional touring planned throughout the remainder of the year. The album represents another step forward for a band that continues to grow without losing the communal spirit from which it began.
