Nashville singer-songwriter Taylor Bickett has released “Good Thing Short,” the latest preview of her debut album, Nothing I Can’t Undo, arriving July 17 via If This Then Records. Accompanied by a new music video, the track explores the excitement and vulnerability of a healthy new relationship, paired with the fear of unintentionally ruining something meaningful.
What makes the song effective is its restraint. Rather than over-dramatizing the fear of loss, Bickett frames it as quiet self-awareness that has a gentle internal warning rather than a meltdown. The result is a relatable, almost diary like reflection on learning to stay present when things finally feel right.
I wrote ‘Good Thing Short’ about that feeling at the start of a new relationship, one that brings peace and comfort like never before. Originally from Indiana and now based in Nashville, Bickett broke through with her viral hit “QUARTER LIFE CRISIS,” which inspired more than 1.5 million TikTok videos and has surpassed 50 million streams. Since then, she has continued to build a devoted audience with her candid songwriting, including the EPs grown up and lonely and This Isn’t Me Missing You, while touring alongside Charlotte Lawrence, Ron Pope, and Blü Eyes.
