On July 30, 2026- The Black Keys performed at the Firefly Distillery in Charleston, South Carolina with special guest: Eddie 9V. The performance of these two bands underneath the hot South Carolina sun brought warmth and that didn’t stop the attendees from being enthusiastic to see their favorite musicians.
Before The Black Keys took the stage; Eddie V9 opened up the night and as the band stepped onto the stage; they brought energy that lasted throughout their whole set. During their set; the crowd was still pooling into the venue, but the fans that were there early at the barricade were filled with adrenaline and making sure they had their phones out to not miss any moments. Eddie V9 has more of a vintage rock sound that truly captivated myself and other attendees from start to finish. The way the band truly transformed the atmosphere into more of a groovy and infectious vibe that blended straight into the headliners set.
Sometimes opening bands don’t receive the recognition that they deserve, but not at this event. Eddie V9 quickly won over the crowd that was coming in and I believe it’s because the musicians on stage were personable, engaging, and showcased through their artistry that they were happy to be there. Eddie V9 elevated the energy during their set that without overshadowing the headliner. By the time Eddie V9’s set was concluded; the venue was filled with anticipation and honestly they left a lasting impression on myself and the attendees.

The second The Black Keys walked onto that stage; the whole atmosphere at the venue became so cinematic. Almost like the whole world stopped for a moment and everyone for a split second realized that music brings so much happiness to their lives. Even though Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney been creating music for two decades together; the chemistry between those two radiated off into the crowd and showed that dedication will continue to prove why this band is so captivating and loved by so many fans.
Auerbach’s vocals carried effortlessly throughout the whole venue mixed with his blues inspired guitar work that became the centerpiece of the performance. Throughout their set with soulful melodies and memorable solos; he truly continues to being one of my favorite guitarists in this industry. Behind him; Carney’s drumming enhanced the heartbeat of each song with his precision and power. The Charleston attendees responded enthusiastically throughout the evening. Fans sang along to nearly every chorus, danced through upbeat numbers, and erupted with applause after each song.
The open air setting at Firefly Distillery only enhanced the experience, allowing the music to fill the venue while the evening breeze and warm lighting created an inviting festival like atmosphere. By the time the encore arrived, the audience was fully invested, refusing to let the evening end quietly. The final songs served as a reminder of why The Black Keys continue to headline venues around the world: they know how to craft a live show that feels both intimate and electrifying.
As fans filtered out of Firefly Distillery, there was a shared sense that they had witnessed more than just another concert. The Black Keys delivered an evening rooted in blues tradition while embracing modern rock, proving that great songs, exceptional musicianship, and genuine chemistry never go out of style.
