Chicago indie rock band The Braymores have officially released their second album, When The Lights Went Out, now streaming on all major platforms.
The album is led by the single “Puppy Eyes,” which recently received recognition from Under the Radar Magazine. On this record, the band takes a different creative approach, writing from the perspectives of fictional characters while exploring darker, more cinematic themes. The songs dive into emotional struggles, intrusive thoughts, and the highs and lows of complicated relationships.
“With this album, we wanted to tell stories instead of writing about ourselves,” the band shares. “We focused on creating characters whose emotions and experiences feel real, while matching those stories with music that captures the intensity and confusion of unhealthy relationships.”
The album arrives just before a major milestone for the band. On July 30, The Braymores will make their hometown Lollapalooza Chicago debut, performing on the BMI Stage from 1:00–1:40 p.m. They’ll also spend the rest of the summer and fall touring across the country in support of the new release.
Formed in 2022, The Braymores feature Matt Tilles (vocals, guitar), Keegan Melaniphy (guitar), Russell Oren (drums), and Connor Kohanzo (bass). What started as a reunion between former classmates quickly turned into a full-time band built around a love for songwriting and performing.
Over the past few years, the group has steadily grown its fanbase through consistent touring, independent releases, and energetic live shows. Known for catchy choruses and engaging performances, The Braymores have become a rising name in the Midwest indie rock scene.
With more than 40 shows scheduled throughout 2026, including festivals, headline dates, and supporting slots, the band is continuing to gain momentum. Between the release of When The Lights Went Out and their upcoming Lollapalooza performance, The Braymores are setting themselves up for an exciting next chapter.
