Atlanta progressive emo outfit Tied In Knots mark a major milestone with the announcement of their signing to Tough Luck Music, returning with their crushing new single, “Tanglewood,” via Arson Theory Records. Arriving alongside a music video directed and edited by bassist CC Bryant, the track serves as the band’s first new release since their FULL GLOOM EP and offers an emotionally devastating glimpse into their forthcoming full-length album. Blending the raw intensity of post-hardcore with soaring melodic passages, “Tanglewood” explores grief, isolation, and the struggle to move forward after unimaginable loss, reinforcing the band’s reputation for pairing deeply personal storytelling with explosive musicianship.

Tanglewood” wastes no time pulling listeners into its emotional storm. Tied In Knots strike a compelling balance between aggression and vulnerability, weaving jagged guitar riffs, thunderous drums, and dynamic tempo shifts into a sound that feels both chaotic and carefully crafted. The contrast between Chris House’s anguished screams and soaring clean vocals gives the song its emotional backbone, allowing every lyric to land with genuine weight.

Lyrically, the track examines the lingering impact of grief through the lens of Chris‘ relationship with his hometown following the death of his older brother. Rather than simply dwelling in heartbreak, “Tanglewood” becomes a rallying cry for anyone who feels emotionally trapped after tragedy. The band’s willingness to confront such deeply personal subject matter gives the song an authenticity that resonates long after its final note.

“After releasing 2 EPs independently, Tied In Knots found a new home with Tough Luck Music. The label understands how much the band thrives with a hands on approach, which feels at home with the band’s DIY nature. We look forward to a long and healthy partnership with Tough Luck Music, as we embark on the release of our first Full Length record.” Tied In Knots
