Tropidelic is taking the next chapter of its career to the stage in a much bigger way. After releasing First Light in June and reaching a new streaming milestone with the record, the Cleveland, Ohio collective is preparing to bring the album across the country on the First Light Tour.
The upcoming run will introduce a major change to the band’s already celebrated live experience. For the first time, Tropidelic will travel with a dedicated lighting designer and a complete custom visual production, including a large-scale light wall and a ring of lighting built around the band.
Rather than simply adding more spectacle, the production has been designed as an extension of the First Light era. The combination of lighting, visuals, sound, and performance is intended to reshape how the songs translate from the record into a packed venue, giving the band’s high-energy shows an entirely new visual dimension.
Released this past June, First Light has already become the most-streamed album in Tropidelic’s history, a significant milestone for a group that has spent more than a decade developing its audience through constant touring and a genre-blurring approach that pulls from reggae, rock, hip-hop, funk, and punk. Now, those songs will take on a different life onstage.
The First Light Tour will give fans the opportunity to hear the band’s newest material within an expanded production built specifically around the album, while retaining the unpredictable energy that has long been at the center of a Tropidelic performance. The tour will also include a particularly meaningful stop for the hometown crowd. Tropidelic will return to Cleveland’s The Agora on November 21 for a special homecoming performance, bringing the First Light era back to the city where the band’s story began.
After years of transforming concert venues into massive communal celebrations, Tropidelic is entering this tour with an expanded visual identity and its most ambitious stage setup yet. The music is new, the production is bigger, but the band’s trademark intensity remains at the center of it all.
