GRAMMY® Award-nominated, multi-platinum artist Offset is stepping into a new era with his latest single, “Something I Need,” released through Motown Records. The track introduces a smoother, confident side of the Atlanta rapper, pairing his signature delivery with melodic touches and a polished production style.
Produced by Southside, Smatt Sertified, and Jester Beats, “Something I Need” is built around a stripped-back but driving instrumental. A soulful vocal presence floats through the production as Offset moves between reflective moments and luxury-focused boasts, creating a track that balances his larger-than-life lifestyle with glimpses of something more personal.
The accompanying visual, filmed in Miami and directed by MikeyRare and SheShe Pendleton, matches the song’s extravagant atmosphere. Offset is seen enjoying a night on a yacht, bringing the track’s carefree energy and lavish aesthetic to life.
“Something I Need” follows a major period in Offset’s career after the release of his introspective album KIARI and its deluxe edition in 2025. Named after his birth name, the project offered a more personal perspective on his experiences and evolution as an artist, moving beyond the larger-than-life persona to explore a more vulnerable side of Offset.
The deluxe edition expanded the album with additional collaborations and tracks, including the BNYX®️ mix of “Bodies” featuring J.I.D. and sampling Drowning Pool. The project also featured collaborations with Gunna, YFN Lucci, Ty Dolla $ign, Key Glock, and NBA YoungBoy, alongside previously released songs including “Never Let Go” with John Legend and “Professional.”
With “Something I Need,” Offset shifts his attention forward while continuing to build on the personal evolution established through KIARI.
