UK collective PRESIDENT officially enter a new chapter today with the release of their highly anticipated debut album, Blood Of Your Empire, available September 4 through Atlantic Records. The album lands alongside “Sleepwalker,” the latest track to emerge from the mysterious project, giving listeners another glimpse into the dark and uncompromising world PRESIDENT have been building since their arrival in 2025.
The timing of the release is especially significant. As The Blood Of Your Empire makes its way into the world, PRESIDENT simultaneously launch their first North American headline tour, with every date already sold out. The run begins tonight at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville and will travel through major cities including Chicago, New York, Toronto, Boston, Atlanta, Denver, Seattle and Los Angeles before concluding October 14 at House of Blues in Dallas. Showing Teeth will provide support on select dates.
PRESIDENT previously introduced themselves to North American audiences while touring with Bad Omens earlier this year. Their move from supporting slots to completely sold-out headline shows marks a rapid escalation for a band that has deliberately kept much of its identity shrouded in mystery. At the heart of Blood Of Your Empire is a deeply personal exploration of belief, mortality and the complicated role faith has played throughout human history.
Rather than presenting a straightforward answer to those questions, PRESIDENT embrace the contradictions. The record examines how belief can create meaning, community and compassion while also acknowledging the violence and suffering that have been carried out in its name. That tension became the foundation for the album, transforming personal uncertainty into something considerably larger and more cinematic.
Adding another layer to the album’s presentation is its striking artwork: Eugène Delacroix’s The Battle of Poitiers, a historic painting housed at the Louvre. The choice mirrors the album’s themes of conflict, humanity and the complicated forces that shape civilization.
Since emerging in 2025, PRESIDENT have intentionally operated outside the traditional expectations placed on new artists. Minimalism, anonymity and carefully controlled imagery have become central to their presentation, allowing the music and its underlying ideas to remain at the forefront. With Blood Of Your Empire, PRESIDENT aren’t simply introducing their first full-length record; they’re revealing the foundation of a project built around mystery, atmosphere and an obvious refusal to be easily categorized.
PRESIDENT’s “Sleepwalker” feels like a descent rather than a conventional song. From its ominous atmosphere to its increasingly intense delivery, the track creates the sensation of being pulled somewhere you aren’t entirely sure you want to go. There is a deliberate darkness running through the song, but PRESIDENT avoid making that darkness feel one-dimensional. Instead, “Sleepwalker” balances weight and atmosphere, creating a soundscape that feels both threatening and strangely hypnotic. The track’s greatest strength is its ability to build tension. Rather than immediately throwing everything at the listener, PRESIDENT allow the atmosphere to develop, giving the song a sense of anticipation before its heavier moments arrive. That contrast makes the impact feel considerably larger.
