Two forces in modern metalcore are coming together for a collaboration fans won’t want to miss. Michigan’s We Came As Romans have teamed up with Australian heavyweights Make Them Suffer for their latest single, “DEAD SILENT,” arriving today alongside an official music video. The release brings together two bands known for their ability to balance crushing instrumentation with emotionally charged songwriting, creating a collaboration that feels right at home in both of their worlds.
The new track will also appear on All Is Beautiful… Because We’re Doomed: Circularity, an expanded and reimagined edition of We Came As Romans‘ 2025 album. Set for release November 6 through Sharptone Records, the 23-track collection introduces four previously unreleased songs, giving listeners an entirely new way to experience the record’s central themes of transformation, loss, rebirth and everything that exists in between.
For We Came As Romans vocalist Dave Stephens, bringing Make Them Suffer into the creative process was an opportunity the band had wanted to pursue for quite some time. Stephens explains that the two groups had discussed collaborating before, but “DEAD SILENT” finally created the opportunity to make it happen. Beyond their admiration for Make Them Suffer’s contributions to heavy music, the collaboration gave both bands the chance to create something that carried plenty of weight while still delivering an energetic, movement-driven sound.
Lyrically, the song explores the difficult process of recognizing destructive cycles, breaking away from negativity and finding the strength to rebuild. Although its atmosphere leans into darker territory, Stephens describes the experience of creating the track as an enjoyable one, emphasizing the excitement of bringing two musical perspectives together.
A New Chapter in the Story of All Is Beautiful… Because We’re Doomed
Circularity isn’t simply an expanded version of the band’s previous album. Instead, it takes the original record’s concept of life, death and rebirth and pushes it further through additional music and reimagined arrangements.
The four new tracks “WHEN EVERYTHING IS STILL,” “DEAD SILENT,” “SPEAK TO EXIST” and another previously unreleased addition create a connecting passage between the original album’s closing track, “BECAUSE WE’RE DOOMED,” and its opening song, “ALL IS BEAUTIFUL…”. Positioned at the beginning of the expanded tracklist, the new material creates a continuous cycle that leads listeners back into the original album whenever the record reaches its conclusion.
The project also brings an impressive collection of guest artists into the fold. Six existing songs have been reconstructed with contributions from Currents, After The Burial, HEAVENSGATE, Rory Rodriguez of Dayseeker, Ladrones, Headwreck and Bury Tomorrow. Rather than simply adding guest vocals, these artists were given the opportunity to reshape the songs themselves. The results include a completely new chorus from Bury Tomorrow and a Spanish-language reworking of “culture wound O” with Ladrones, featuring flamenco guitar.
These creative changes reflect the larger ideas behind Circularity: transformation, reinterpretation and the possibility of discovering something different within something familiar. With “BORN FROM NOTHING” previously introducing the new material and “DEAD SILENT” now joining the collection, listeners are getting another glimpse into the evolving world We Came As Romans have created.
