Australian punk rock trio The Chats are gearing up for a massive year on the road, announcing an extensive 30-date North American headline tour in support of their forthcoming album, Half Cut. The tour will launch April 7, 2027, at The UC Theatre in Berkeley, California, before making its way across the United States and Canada and concluding May 18 at The Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood.
The upcoming record marks the band’s first full-length release in five years and is scheduled to arrive March 5, 2027, through Virgin Music Group. Fans looking to catch the trio live can access the artist presale beginning November 4 at 12 PM local time, with general ticket sales opening November 6 at 10 AM local time.
The North American trek is just one part of an especially busy touring schedule for the Australian group. Before heading overseas in 2027, The Chats will embark on a 17-date Australian run throughout November and December 2026, bringing their high-energy performances to venues across their home country. They will then return to Europe and the UK in September and October 2027, with an extensive itinerary that includes stops in Helsinki, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Dublin, Manchester and three consecutive nights at London’s Electric Ballroom.
The announcement comes after an eventful year for the band, which included appearances at Coachella and a run of shows alongside punk heavyweights Social Distortion and Descendents. With their signature combination of rapid-fire punk riffs, sarcastic humor and unapologetically chaotic performances, The Chats have continued to establish themselves as an exciting force in modern punk.
Fans have already gotten their first taste of the new album through lead single “Off It,” which also serves as the opening track on Half Cut. Accompanied by a characteristically wild music video, the song offers an introduction to the direction of the band’s upcoming material.
Recorded at Maple Sound Studio in Los Angeles with Jay Whalley of Frenzal Rhomb, Half Cut finds the trio exploring new creative territory while holding onto the unfiltered personality that has made their music recognizable. Moving beyond the straightforward chaos of their earlier work, the album touches on hangovers, questionable decisions, personal confrontations, reconciliation and rehabilitation. The result promises a more introspective perspective from the band, without abandoning the humor and punchy punk energy that fans have come to expect.
Following their 2022 album Get Fucked, Half Cut represents a new chapter for The Chats, and their upcoming international touring schedule suggests they have plenty planned for the road ahead.
