After more than two years away from releasing new music, Los Angeles-based guitarist and songwriter Kora Puckett is stepping back into the spotlight with a new single, “In My Veins,” marking his first release under TODO Records. The new track signals a fresh chapter for Puckett, bringing together playful guitar work and an uplifting perspective on finding direction in life. Accompanying the release is an official music video directed by Justice Vaughn Ott, capturing a more laid-back side of Los Angeles as Puckett moves between playing guitar on a front porch and exploring the city.
For Puckett, this return represents more than simply putting out another song. It reflects a shift in how he approaches creating music and the people he surrounds himself with.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the track, he shares:
“It was the start of a new ethos for me with music keep things loose and open, surround yourself with artists who you love that you can lean on.”
Puckett first introduced listeners to his music in 2024 with a three-song vinyl EP released through Let’s Pretend Records. Blending country influences with rock, the project featured “Far As I Can Tell,” “Forever or Just Then,” and “Work All Week.” The recordings brought together an impressive group of collaborators, including Steve Marino, Matt Berry, Amos Pitsch of Dusk, Alex Drossart, Jamie Candiloro, and harmonica player Mickey Raphael. Beyond the studio, Puckett has spent the past few years performing throughout Los Angeles, sharing stages with Jawdropped, 9Million, Color Green, and others. With new music now arriving and additional live dates expected to be announced, this latest release offers a glimpse into what’s next for the songwriter.
