Odie Leigh Finds Love in the Little Things With New Single “Corner Store”

Sometimes the smallest gestures carry the biggest emotions. For singer-songwriter Odie Leigh, even a simple trip to the corner store can become an expression of love, longing, and the desire to feel close to someone. Her latest single, “Corner Store,” is out now, bringing a previously unreleased fan favorite into the spotlight.

Co-produced by Matt Martin (Faye Webster, COIN, Delaney Bailey, Aidan Bissett), the track has already found a special place in Leigh’s live performances during her ongoing solo acoustic tour, Odie Leigh is…Alone. Now, listeners finally have the opportunity to experience the song outside the concert setting. An official lyric video has also arrived on YouTube.

At its heart, “Corner Store” explores how affection often reveals itself through ordinary moments rather than grand romantic gestures. Leigh uses the familiar question of whether someone needs anything from the store to uncover the deeper feelings that can exist beneath everyday conversations.

Leigh describes the meaning behind the song:

“If love is extending oneself for another, then buying a bag of chips can be a declaration. A plea for an ex lover to give up and give in, ‘Corner Store’ speaks the unspoken thoughts behind casual bids for connection.”

She continues by reflecting on the intimacy of being cared for, explaining that something as simple as being asked if you need anything can carry an entirely different meaning: “I love you. I miss you. I can’t wait to see you.” The release follows last month’s arrival of “Miss Leave Me Alone,” which offered another glimpse into what Leigh has been creating ahead of her highly anticipated forthcoming album.

Meanwhile, Leigh continues bringing her music directly to audiences through her intimate acoustic tour. Upcoming performances include two sold-out nights at Detroit’s Moondog Café on November 4 and 5, followed by a sold-out November 6 performance at Chicago’s Schubas Tavern. With “Corner Store,” Leigh reminds listeners that love doesn’t always announce itself loudly. Sometimes, it shows up in the smallest acts of consideration, hidden inside the simplest questions.
